Jeff Boggan joined the advancement staff at North Georgia in January of 2001, as Director of Development and Director of the NGCSU Foundation. Following consolidation of NGCSU and Gainesville State College in January 2013, he now serves as the university’s principal fundraiser with Corporations and Foundations, and as the major gift officer for intercollegiate athletics. He has more than 25 years of experience in alumni and development work. He is a 2012 graduate of the University System of Georgia’s Executive Leadership Institute.

Boggan came to North Georgia from Banner Elk, NC, where he served as Senior Director of Development at Lees-McRae College. His previous service includes Director of Advancement and Chief Operating Officer of the Pi Kappa Phi Foundation in Charlotte, NC; Director of Development & Alumni Affairs at The Montgomery Academy in Montgomery, AL; and Director of Alumni & Parents Programs at Wofford College in Spartanburg, SC.Prior to his work in higher education, he served as an Infantry officer in the U. S. Army, attaining the rank of Captain. He then worked in municipal government for the City of Charlotte, NC.

Boggan earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government from Wofford College, where he was a Distinguished Military Student, a Distinguished Military Graduate, and a member of Wofford’s intercollegiate rifle team. He earned his Master of Arts degree in Higher Education Administration from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC.

Boggan is an active member of First Baptist Church in Gainesville, where he teaches adult Sunday school and sings in the Sanctuary choir. He is an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Gainesville, and has served as a board member and officer for several local non-profit agencies. Boggan has served as a volunteer alumni relations consultant to several small colleges in the southeast, and as volunteer fund raising and board development consultant for several church and community organizations. He serves as past president of the board of directors for the Georgia Education Advancement Council (GEAC).

Boggan and his wife Beth live in Flowery Branch, GA. Step-daughter Madeline Maney is a freshman at the University of North Georgia, where she plans to study athletic training.
