DAHLONEGA, GA - Kenny Bellavance has been named the Moe's Southwest Grill North Georgia Athlete of the Week after leading the baseball team to four straight wins last week.
He paced the North Georgia offense last week to a perfect 4-0 mark, hitting .500 with seven hits and four runs batted in.
In a weekend sweep at Georgia Southwestern, the sophomore tallied all seven of his hits, going 7-for-12 at the plate and stretching North Georgia's winning streak to four games.
Bellavance currently leads the Saints with a .393 batting average, having played and started in all 21 games this season. He is second on the team with 17 runs batted in, and leads with the squad with 17 runs scored.
The Saints are currently ranked No. 11 in the country in the latest edition of the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper NCAA Division II Top 30 Poll. North Georgia will play a pair of mid-week games at Carson-Newman before traveling to the University of Montevallo over the weekend for another Peach Belt Conference series.
