AUGUSTA, GA – After leading North Georgia to a 2-1 record in the opening week of the season, senior Clarence Tillman was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week.

The league office announced the news Monday afternoon as the Saints prepare for a non-conference clash against Truett-McConnell on Tuesday evening.

Tillman opened the season in style, scoring 27 points and grabbing seven boards in a win over Brevard in the first game of the 2011 PBC-SAC Challenge. The Orange Park, Florida, native followed that up with a career-high 36 points while pulling down six boards in a win over Mars Hill.

He finished up the first week of the season with 17 points and six boards, while hitting 11 of 12 free throws in an 85-83 loss at Newberry College.

Through three games, Tillman is second in the Peach Belt Conference in scoring, averaging 26.7 points per game, trailing leader D.J. Rivera by one tenth of a point.

Tillman is shooting 55.3 percent from the field and a team-high 41.7 percent from beyond the arc.

The Saints return to the hardwood on Tuesday, November 22, when they host Truett-McConnell, before preparing to head to Pensacola, Florida, to take part in the 2011 West Florida Thanksgiving Classic.
