Men’s Basketball Preparing for NAIA Truett-McConnell
DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The North Georgia College & State University men's basketball team suffered its first two losses of the season last week, but the Saints will look to turn things around in their one contest this Wednesday, Nov. 28 in Cleveland, Ga. against NAIA school Truett-McConnell. Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
Heading into Wednesday night's match with the Bears, the Saints are hitting on 47.2% from the field including 40.6% from three-point range. They are out-rebounding their opposition 200-168 but have committed 10 more turnovers.
Ishmael Hollis has led the Saints in scoring for the early part of the season averaging 20.0 points and 9.0 rebounds per game. He has hit on 48.7% of his looks from the field and averages 1.0 block per contest.
But in the last couple of games fellow junior transfer Lamar Richardson has come on strong. He led the team with 39 points last week and drained 10 three-pointers, including six in the Saints' game against Anderson. For the season, he averages 15.6 points and 4.2 three-pointers per game.
Scott Windom is the final player averaging double-digit points with 12.8 points per game. The senior is shooting 47.9% from the field and also brings down 6.8 rebounds per contest.
Truett-McConnell enters Wednesday 2-3 for the season and is shooting .437 from the field and .278 from three-point range as a team. The Bears are led by Anthoney Dorsey's 24.3 points per game and 11 blocks along with Andretti Loyd's 14.0 points per outing.
Brandon Joiner averages 10.0 points and leads the team with 7.8 rebounds per game.
