Josh Travis is in his 11th season as
the men's basketball assistant coach under head coach Chris
Faulkner for the University of North Georgia. During his tenure at
UNG, the program has posted a 127-133 mark, including berths in the
semifinals of the 2007-08 and 2012-13 Peach Belt Conference
basketball tournaments. Travis assists with all aspects of
the men's basketball program.
After serving as a graduate assistant in 2003-2004, Travis was promoted to assistant coach. Along with coaching, he is an instructor in the Health and Physical Education department and received his M.Ed. in Physical Education at North Georgia.
Travis comes to North Georgia from Reinhardt College where he served as an assistant coach for the women's basketball team in 2002-2003, and as an assistant coach for the men's basketball team in 2001-2002. He played basketball for Truett-McConnell College for two seasons in 1997-1999 and then transferred to Reinhardt where he played during the 2000-2001 season.
Coach Travis and his wife, Sasha, reside in Dawsonville, Georgia.
