PANAMA CITY BEACH, FL – The North Georgia men's golf opened their 2011 spring season on Tuesday, playing the final round of the rain-shortened Outback Intercollegiate at Hombre Golf Club.
Monday's round was washed out, leaving the Outback Invitational to a single 18-hole event on Tuesday as the Saints embark on the second season in program history.
The story of the day belonged to Matt Rochlin who fired his best collegiate round with a 75, good for a tie for third overall in the championship field. Howard Duffin and Brian Mallory got off to slow starts to the season based on their standards, both firing 84's for the Tuesday round.
The Saints will go right back to work next week, traveling to Sea Island for the Coastal Georgia Men's Winter Invite at the Sea Island Golf Course. The two-round event is set to tee-off on Monday morning.
