North Georgia falls 1-0 to Queens University

Charlotte, NC – North Georgia College & State University managed 14 shots, but allowed a first half goal in a 1-0 loss at Queens University Tuesday evening in non-conference action.

The Saints were never able to convert a goal as they had 14 shots, including four shots on goal in a one-goal defeat. The loss sends North Georgia’s record back to .500 at 5-5 and marks the fourth time this season the Saints have fallen by a one-goal margin.

Queens (5-1-1) picked up the only goal of the contest in the 24th minute as Kevin O’Donell took a pass from Andrew Groff and sent a shot past North Georgia keeper Rade Tanaskovic for a 1-0 advantage. Tanaskovic recorded a save in each half as his goals against average still remains the second lowest in the Peach Belt Conference at 0.89.

North Georgia (5-5) will look to get back on track, as they will have several days off before traveling to Greenwood, South Carolina, for their biggest game of the season on Saturday afternoon. They will open their Peach Belt Conference schedule against 21st-ranked Lander University with kickoff scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
