Rade Tanaskovic Named Moe's Athlete of the Week

DAHLONEGA, GARade Tanaskovic has been named the Moe's Southwest Grill North Georgia Athlete of the Week after leading the Saints to back-to-back shutouts to close the regular season the Sports Communications Office announced on Monday morning.

The Barzilovica, Serbia, native returned to the starting lineup against Brevard College on Senior Day and blanked the Tornados in all 90 minutes of action. His lone save in the game was off a free kick as the junior dove to his left to defect a shot on goal in the 81st minute.

Tanaskovic then came back in the regular season finale at UNC Pembroke and blanked the Braves in what turned out to be a scoreless double overtime tie.

He notched three saves in the game and has now recorded over 200 straight minutes in goal without allowing a score. The All-Conference goalie has six shutouts on the season and a goals against average of 1.03.

Tanaskovic and the Saints return to action on Tuesday evening, traveling to Flagler College for the opening round of the Peach Belt Conference Tournament. Kickoff in St. Augustine, Florida, is set for 7:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. For a full preview of the contest click HERE.
