Cunha, Alonzo Honored with All-PBC Recognition

AUGUSTA, Ga. – North Georgia College & State University men's soccer players Gustavo Cunha and Kristoher Alonzo were recognized Friday afternoon at the annual Peach Belt Conference men's and women's soccer awards banquet held at the Belair Conference Center. Cunha was named to the All-PBC First Team while Alonzo was named the Second Team's goalkeeper.

Cunha, a senior midfielder from Mogi das Cruzes, Brazil, led the team in 2012 with four goals in 14 starts. When added to his one assist for his senior campaign, he recorded a team-high nine points as he saw action in all 16 games for the Saints.

A junior from Dacula, Ga., Alonzo ended the year second in the conference with 69 saves and was fourth in the league with a .775 save percentage.

Lewis Hilton from Young Harris College was recognized as the league's Freshman of the Year while the University of Montevallo's Brenadn Ledgeway was named the Player of the Year. Lander University's Van Taylor was recognized as the Coach of the Year.
