The 2013 season will mark the fourth year Ben Chedgy has served as an assistant coach under Pat Parris at the University of North Georgia. He assists in the everyday operations of the men’s soccer program, including training and working with the defense.
During his four-year career at North Georgia, Ben was a three-time Peach Belt All-Conference performer as a first team selection and earned All-Region first team honors during his junior season. He also served as a team captain on the pitch all four years.
Chedgy was honored as the UNG Male
Athlete of the Year in 2011. He has PDL experience for both the
West Virginia Chaos and the Vermont Voltage and was eligible for
the 2011 MLS (Major League Soccer) draft as a senior marking only
player in program history and one of only 14 players in NCAA
Division II to earn eligibility.
The Somerset, England native was invited to train with the Colorado Rapids (MLS) and the Atlanta Silverbacks (NASL) in 2011. He also earned an invite to the 2011 United Soccer League Combine.
Chedgy graduated from North Georgia in the spring of 2011, and is currently pursuing is Master’s degree in Public Administration.
