Saints Run Winning Streak to Five, Take Down Young Harris 8-1

YOUNG HARRIS, GA – The North Georgia men's tennis team ran their winning streak to five games on Wednesday afternoon as they defeated Young Harris 8-1 at the Young Harris Tennis Complex. 

The Saints (12-2) continue to rewrite the young program's record books improving their record to 7-2 away from Dahlonega, while Young Harris (4-7) dropped their third straight home match.

North Georgia got off to another solid start as they swept doubles play as the duos of Felipe Friedrich/Mateus Camasmie and Giovani Santos/Brandon Sloan each won their matches 8-4 at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles respectively. 

Rodrigo Magan and Sam Gannt won their marathon match at No. 3 doubles 9-8 (7-2).

The hot start carried over to singles action yet again for the Saints as they won five of the six matches. Friedrich, Sloan and Gantt each won their matches in straight sets, while Camasmie and Santos won their matches by taking the third set tiebreakers. 

The Saints return to the courts on March 29, when they host in state rival Columbus State in Peach Belt Conference action.
