DAHLONEGA, GA – The Saints used 13 hits to run past the University of Charleston in 8-run rule fashion, 12-0, in their first game of the Captain D's Classic.

North Georgia (24-3) saw every player in the starting lineup come away with a hit, and four players finished with multi-hit games.

Karlie Gillam led the attack going 2-for-3, including a 2-run bomb in the fifth. Gillam also smacked a double and finished with a career-high four RBI's.

Gillam got the scoring going right away in the first inning, when her double plated Katherine Martin, who was put on base via the walk.

The Saints would add two more in the second inning, when a Katie Block single allowed Callie Fernandez to come in and score. Pilar Harden would single to bring in Tiffanie Burns to give North Georgia a 3-0 lead after two complete.

The No. 2-ranked team in the country would add three more in the third and four more in the fourth.

Kayla Minger went a  perfect 2-for-2 at the plate, finishing with two RBI's and two runs scored. Minger smacked two doubles and also drew a walk

Burns also went 2-for-2 at the plate, including a 2-run double.

Sarah Johnson scored a pair of runs as well, as she went 1-for-3 in the game. Johnson also played an outstanding game defensively.

Staying perfect on the year was Melissa Dickie (9-0), who pitched five strong innings, allowing just one hit and striking out five. If it wasn't for the offensive explosion, Dickie's performance would have stood out even more, as she nearly no-hit the Golden Eagles.

Fernandez was brilliant at the plate going 2-for-3 with two RBI's and a run scored. She looks like she is back to her old ways, a relief for head coach Mike Davenport.

North Georgia looks now to a matchup with No. 1-ranked Alabama-Huntsville at 5:00 PM, in game four of the 2012 Captain D's Classic.
