DAHLONEGA, GA – The North Georgia softball team hosted a Lumpkin County YMCA Heroes League game on Wednesday evening at the Hill, welcoming in the Tigers and the Heroes for a family fun night.
Players from the Saints softball team were on hand to help out and give support for the little leaguers. Katie Block, Kaitlyn Seabolt, Katie Garrett, Karlie Gillam, Victoria St. Clair, Tiffanie Burns and Rochelle Shuman all to action to give help to the players and coaches.
The Heroes team is made up of special individuals from ages 5-57 that participate in the YMCA programs throughout the summer.
The Heroes came out on top by a score of 29-21 over the Tigers, but the score was no indication of the fun the kids had on the field.
Haines & Carolyn Hill Stadium was packed with family and friends in support of the little leaguers taking action on the field.
"There was a great showing of support for these kids," said North Georgia softball head coach Mike Davenport. "This event was fun and special and we look forward to doing it again in the future. A thanks goes out to all the players and parents and friends who came out to take part in this event."
