DAHLONEGA, GA – The North Georgia women's basketball team is set to host the second annual Chick-fil-A Tip-Off Classic this weekend in Memorial Hall, welcoming a trio of Division II schools to the area for the two-day event.
Chowan University, Lynn University, and Clayton State all make their way to Dahlonega for a pair of games in this weekend's classic.
Game one on Friday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. features the Clayton State Lakers and the Lynn University Fighting Knights. Clayton State enters the game with a record of 2-0 on the year, scoring 80 points in each of their first two games against Catawba and Brevard. The Fighting Knights come into the weekend at 1-1 on the young season, having lost their season opener to Northern Kentucky, before battling back and edging Florida Memorial 72-71 at the buzzer.
Game two on Friday at 6:00 p.m. will match host North Georgia against the Chowan Hawks. The Lady SAints enter play at 2-1 on the season, splitting a pair of games at Clayton State's Tip-Off Tournament last weekend, before pounding Young Harris 64-39 on the road. The Hawks are looking for their first win of the year this weekend after falling 56-55 against Mount Olive to open the season.
On Saturday, Clayton State will take on Chowan at 2:00 p.m., followed by North Georgia and Lynn University at 4:00 p.m. All four games will be followed with live in-game statistics courtesy of the North Georgia Sports Communications office, while games two and four will feature a live video production courtesy of the Saints Broadcast Network.
