Flurry of Home Games Highlight Lady Saints' Schedule

Complete 2011-12 Schedule

DAHLONEGA, GA – Following a tough conference schedule in the 2010-11 season, head women's basketball coach Buffie Burson has released a full slate of games for the 2011-12 campaign that features 16 homes games.

The Saints will open the year by hosting LaGrange November 11, at 6:00 p.m., in an exhibition matchup before hosting the Chick-fil-A Tip-Off Classic and welcoming Trevecca Nazarene and North Alabama to Memorial Gymnasium.  North Georgia will also be hosting a Chick-fil-A Thanksgiving Classic to be held on November 25 and 26 as they will take on Brenau University and Tusculum College.

After the annual classics are held, the Lady Saints will have four more home games following to give them nine in a row to start the season. Two more non-conference games will be played for coach Burson in the midst of the conference season, traveling to both Newberry College and nearby Young Harris College.

North Georgia will open their Peach Belt Conference slate on December 14, hosting Georgia College, which is their only conference game scheduled before the new year. The Lady Saints open the 2012 calendar year with a two-game conference road trip against defending conference and National Champion Clayton State on January 3, and Augusta State on January 7.

The Lady Saints close out their season with eight straight conference games in February including four home games against the University of Montevallo, Clayton State, Georgia Southwestern and Senior Night against Columbus State on February 22, at 7:30 p.m.

North Georgia is optimistic about the 2011-12 season, looking to improve their 15-12 record overall and 6-11 mark in the Peach Belt Conference in 2010-11.

The Lady Saints' second leading scorer last season, Lindsey Moss, returns for her senior campaign after All-Conference honors last year, while sharp shooter Jessica Trice will embark on her sophomore season after putting up 5.7 points per game and 3.7 rebounds per contest.

With North Georgia agreeing to a new partnership with Ustream, women's basketball games can be viewed live on the web and followed with live in-game statistics every step of the way.
