AUGUSTA, GA – After setting a school record (NCAA-era) with 40 points in the opening game of the X-Trem Thanksgiving Classic, sophomore Jaymee Carnes was named the Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week.

The league office announced the news Monday afternoon as the Lady Saints prepare to host Truett-McConnell in a non-conference clash Tuesday evening at Memorial Hall.

Carnes opened the X-Trem Thanksgiving Classic with a dominant performance, scoring 40 points while pulling down 18 boards and swatting nine shots. The Gainesville, Georgia, native hit 16 of her 24 shots and all eight of her free throws en route to the 10th 40 point game in PBC history.

She followed up her record setting effort with her fourth consecutive double-double, pouring in a game-high 23 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 50 percent from the field.

Carnes has scored over 20 points in every game this season and through four games she leads the PBC in scoring with 28.8 points per game, total blocks (19) and is second in rebounding at 12.8 boards a game.
