DAHLONEGA, GA – The Lady Saints got back on track in the Peach Belt with a 75-55 victory over Francis Marion Monday evening in Memorial Hall.
The Lady Saints (9-5, 3-2 PBC) shot 42 percent from the field in their win, compared to the Patriots (6-8, 2-6 PBC) 35.7 percent. North Georgia also shot 75.7 percent from the free throw line.
The Lady Saints took the lead right from the start off a Trice three-point shot as they started the game on a 15-6 run.
North Georgia never looked back after the hot start, keeping the lead for the entire contest. Francis Marion got within five points multiple times throughout the first half, but the Lady Saints kept answering with baskets of their own.
Carnes ended up short of her 13th double-double of the year, only pulling down five rebounds to go with her 24 points. Tonight's game marked the second game this season she did not reach the double-double mark. Giovanni Sims was two assists short of a double-double with 11 rebounds, despite scoring just one point in the contest.
The Patriots were led by Simone Trice and Brittany Christian, who both came off the bench to score in double figures. Trice had 15 and Christian had 10.
The Lady Saints travel to Lander on Wednesday evening to take on the Bearcats in another PBC contest. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. in Horne Arena.
