The Saint women used a 50-point second half to defeat Georgia Southwestern State University 83-73 Saturday night, securing their berth into the PBC tournament next week all on their own.

Hill Sets NCAA Era School Record with 41 Points as Saint Women Cruise to 73-67 Win Over Young Harris
DAHLONEGA, Ga. – For the third straight week, Mimi Hill set a new career high in points, and this time, she set the school NCAA Division II era record for most points in a game. The junior forward from Gainesville, Ga. eclipsed the 40-point mark as she led all scorers with 41 points as the University of North Georgia women's basketball team collected a 73-67 Peach Belt Conference West Division win over Young Harris College on "Spirit Night" at home.

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The last time the University of North Georgia saw the University of Montevallo, the Falcons were escaping Memorial Hall Gymnasium with a two-point, 60-58 win. The second time around, the Saints (8-11, 6-6 PBC) were able to enact revenge on the Falcons (13-9, 8-5 PBC) with an 82-76 road victory inside Bank Trust Arena.

COLUMBUS, Ga. – With a jumper at the 13:09 mark, Jaymee Carnes eclipsed the 1,000 career points mark en route to a 30-point performance Thursday night to lead three other Saints in double figures, but it was not enough as the University of North Georgia women's basketball team fell 92-88 on the road to Columbus State University in a pivotal Peach Belt Conference West Division matchup.

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Jaymee Carnes entered Thursday night's Peach Belt Conference game against Georgia Southwestern State University needing just three rebounds to reach 500 career boards. The junior from Gainesville, Ga. collected those three boards in just the first three and a half minutes of the University of North Georgia's 71-42 rout of the Hurricanes inside Memorial Hall Gymnasium.

Last Second Layup Edges Bobcats Past Saint Women in 72-71 Heartbreaker
DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The North Georgia College & State University’s women’s basketball team had all five starters finish with double-digit points and shot 52.6% from the field as a team, but it came down to one missed free throw that Georgia College’s Brandi McKinney converted into a last second layup. That layup gave the Bobcats a 72-71 victory Saturday night inside Memorial Hall Gymnasium and kept them perfect in Peach Belt Conference action while the Saints suffered their first conference loss of the season.

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The North Georgia College & State University Athletic Department has announced that four outstanding individuals will be inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013. Those indivudals include former baseball coach Jim Otte, Sr., former baseball player William Geiler, former women’s basketball player Anne (Smith) Hyams, and former softball and women’s basketball player Kara (Winkler) Leonard.
