COLUMBUS, GA – The North Georgia women's golf team's final round 375 put the squad in eighth place in the field of 10 teams at the conclusion of the Lady Cougar Collegiate Classic at the Country Club of Columbus.
North Georgia put together rounds of 356 and 375 for a 731 two-day total, placing the Lady Saints in eighth place, just ahead of SCAD Atlanta and North Greenville.
UNC Pembroke pulled away from the field to capture the title, finishing with a final round 307 for a 620 total, clearing the field and second place Shorter College by 27 strokes.
UNCP's Meghan Moore finished atop the field, recording a 1-over-par 145 for the championship to clear Columbus State's Kimesha Anthony by five shots.
Casey Truelove fired back-to-back 90's to take 39th place, while Jodie Borchert logged a 52nd place finish with a final 109 and Daisy Wright rounded out the team in 55th place with a 228 tournament total.
The Lady Saints will head right back out on the course next week, traveling to the Armstrong Atlantic Pirate Invitational at Savannah Quarters Country Club. The opening round is set to tee off on Monday morning.
