DAHLONEGA, GA – Lindsey Solberg/Caroline Powers from Michigan State University rode a one-under-par 143 to a single stroke victory at the 2011 Hooters Women's Collegiate Team Championship at Achasta, By Reynolds.
The Spartan duo of Solberg/Powers finished the tournament twelve-under-par. Vanderbilt's Marina Alex/Lauren Stratton had a one shot lead going to into the 18th hole, but they carded two bogeys falling into a second place tie with Virginia's Elizabeth Brightwell/Portland Rosen. Both second place team shot an even par 144 for the Aggregate score final round to finish the tournament at eleven-under-par each.
Chelsea Harris/Christie Cardwell of the University of Iowa scored the low round of the day shooting a six-under-par 138. The strong finish helped the Hawkeye tandem jump into fourth place with a final score of nine-under-par.
Rounding out the top five where Heather Lott/Liz Breed of Kentucky. In their final round Lott/Breed shot an even par 144 to finish off the tournament four-under-par.
Grand Valley State's Sarah Hoffman/Veronica Ryan shot a five-over-par 149 to finish the tournament at ten-over-par to capture the Division II Championship. Kirby Baker/Ryanne Haddow from St. Edwards finished second for Division II finishing the tournament at sixteen-over-par.
Central College's Sarah Paulson/Ali Miller captured a come-from-behind victory in the Division III race finishing the tournament at twelve-over-par. The DePauw University tandem of Taylor Beaty/Kelly Gaughan finished second in Division III coming in at eighteen-over-par for the tournament.
