Women’s Golf Tied for Fifth After First Round of Montevallo Invitational

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – After the opening round of the Montevallo/Full Moon BBQ Invitational the North Georgia College & State women's golf team finds itself tied for fifth with Shorter College with a score of 316.

Senior Catalina Olarte currently leads the Saints with a 75 performance that has her tied for third individually. Sophomore Abbey Gill carded a 79 on the first 18 to place her in a tie for 18th

Casey Trueloveis currently tied for 22nd with an 80 through the first round while LeeAnn Noble is tied for 27th (82) and Bridget Sandy is tied for 40th (90).

Lander University currently leads the field with a 297 with Columbus State three strokes off the lead. Lander's T. Caballer Hernani is the current individual leader with a one-under par 70 while Columbus State's Kimesha Anthony is in second with a 74.

The women will close out the tournament tomorrow, Tuesday, Sept. 18, with an 8:00 a.m. shotgun start.
