Schenk Named Third-Team PBC All-Academic

AUGUSTA, GA – Lauren Schenk has been named to the Peach Belt Conference All-Academic Team announced by the conference office. The junior receives the honor after being named All-Conference in each of her first two seasons.

The teams are one of the first in a new season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field.

To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student athlete must participate in at least half of their team’s events, achieve a 3.2 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale, and have completed at least one full academic year at their current institution. The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors nominated and voted on the selected teams.

Lauren Schenk, an Exercise Science major, has a 3.22 cumulative grade point average and was a 2007 All-PBC selection. She tallied 22 points for the Lady Saints in 2008. She recording nine goals and four assists on the season. She had one game-winning goal and was a perfect 1-1 in Penalty kicks. Schenk played and started in 15 games, logging 1131 minutes. She recorded 29 shots, including 21 shots on goal.
