Welcome to official Home of North Georgia's Inaugural Community Engagement Week!

Follow along the week of Christmas as the North Georgia Sports Communications Office releases a new Community Engagement story each day at 8:00 AM!

“North Georgia Athletics embraces the significance of giving back to the community,” Director of Athletics Lindsay Reeves said. “We are honored and blessed to have the opportunity to be a part of this important Division II priority.”

Division II is committed to developing students and communities by actively engaging in shared experiences and, therefore, has targeted community engagement as one of its strategic priorities.

“North Georgia Athletics continues to follow the life in balance initiatives of NCAA Division II,” Reeves said. “These stories reflect our strong commitment to the overall experience of our student-athletes and to the important role service, leadership, and respect contribute to their experiences at North Georgia.”

Junior softball player Hilary Cox represents North Georgia and the Peach Belt Conference as an NCAA Division II National Student Athlete Advisory Committee representative, overseeing and organizing many of the community engagement projects. “Hilary's dedication and strong leadership skills have been the driving force to the huge success our programs have had this semester in our "giving back to the community" initiatives," Reeves said.

Universities and their students have performed more community service than many other organizations. However, Division II is emphasizing the gathering of individuals to share in an experience and not just provide assistance to an individual or group of individuals in need.
