DAHLONEGA, GA – Following another
impressive start from left-handed pitcher Chris Rearick on Monday
afternoon, the North Georgia sports information office has
announced the senior has been named the Moe’s Southwest Grill
Athlete of the Week.
In the Saints’ series opener against the Tigers, Rearick
tossed 7.0 strong innings, allowing just three hits and one earned
run while striking out 12 Stillman batters. He faced just four
batters over the minimum in his seven innings, allowing one walk,
while over half of his outs were recorded on punch-outs.
For the season, the Pooler, Ga., native has recorded 19 strikeouts
in 15.0 innings of work, while picking up victories in both his
appearances this year. Opponents are hitting just .135 against the
lefty, while Rearick has an earned run average of 0.60.
This is the second award the senior has received in as many weeks after Rearick garnered Peach Belt Conference pitcher of the week honors after his first start of the season against Pfeiffer University.
Make your way out to Bob Stein Stadium this weekend to catch Rearick and all the Saints as they host Bellarmine University in a four-game series.
