Andrew Bennett Named Moe's Athlete of the Week
DAHLONEGA, GA – Senior Andrew Bennett has
been named the Moe’s Southwest Grill North Georgia Athlete of
the Week after leading the Saints into their first week of the
2009-10 season announced Monday afternoon by the Sports Information
Office.
Bennett averaged 15.3 points per game and 5.7 rebounds per contest
during the first three games of the season last week for the
Saints, including a career-high 23 points against Reinhardt College
to open the season.
Bennett was 7-9 from the free throw line in the contest and 8-9
from the field while pulling down eight rebounds in the nine-point
victory. He then put up 14 points on 4-7 shooting from the field
against Truett-McConnell, posting another impressive performance
from the charity stripe, going 6-8 from the line.
The Saints then went on the road to take on Newberry College and
the senior from Coventry, England, posted nine points in 19 minutes
of action, going 3-5 from the field and the free throw line while
pulling down six rebounds.
North Georgia will host Lynn University Tuesday evening before
traveling to Jerfferson City, Tennessee, over the weekend for the
Carson-Newman Tournament.
