DAHLONEGA, GA - Michael Moynihan has been named
the Moe’s Southwest Grill North Georgia Athlete of the Week
after averaging 18.5 points in a pair of games last week for the
Saints the sports information office announced Tuesday
afternoon.
The senior started the week with a game-high 17 points against
Newberry College, going a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line
while adding six assists in 31 minutes of action.
The Alpharetta, Ga., native then came back against third-ranked
Augusta State University and led all scorers with 20 points on a
6-13 shooting performance and another impressive showing at the
charity, knocking down 7-8 attempts. Moynihan leads the team at
15.6 points per game and is shooting 85.7 from percent from the
free throw line.
He is eighth in the Peach Belt Conference in points per game, and
sits fourth in the league in assists and free throw percentage.
The Saints return to action on Saturday afternoon, traveling to
Columbus State University for an in-state matchup with the Cougars.
Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m. at the Lumpkin Center.
