DAHLONEGA, GA - Kelsey Martin has been named the Moe’s Southwest Grill North Georgia Athlete of the Week after leading the Lady Saints in a pair of Peach Belt Conference games last week announced this afternoon by the Sports Information Office.

As a true freshman, Martin continues to anchor North Georgia’s attack, scoring a goal and tallying an assist as the Lady Saints went 0-1-1 last week in league action. Against Clayton State, Martin scored her third goal of the season in the 11th minute against the Lakers to give North Georgia an early 1-0 advantage.

The Dallas, Ga., native then assisted in a game-tying goal against Georgia College as the freshman duo of Martin and Leanne South combined to knot the score 1-1 against the Bobcats in the 57th minute, a score that held true through a pair of overtimes.

Martin is currently tied for the team lead in points with eight, and goals with three, having played 501 minutes in nine games so far this season. Her shot percentage at .214 is second on the team, while the freshman is also second on the club in shots on goal with eight.
