Mike Hyams is in his first year as the Assistant Athletics Director for Business and Finance at the University of North Georgia.

He served twenty-two years as a Marine Officer prior to joining the Department of Athletics at North Georgia.

His military occupational specialty was as a Logistics Officer, which specialized in the areas of budget management, supply chain management, maintenance management, transportation, general engineering, and special services. He retired from the Marine Corps in October of 2012.

Hyams is a native of Dahlonega, GA where he graduated from Lumpkin County High School. He attended North Georgia College after high school and graduated with a Bachelors of Business Administration in 1988.

He was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Marine Corps in June of 1988 and began his active duty career in August 1988 and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in 2010. He pursued his Masters of Business Administration during off duty hours while in the Marine Corps and completed his degree in 2000.

Hyams is married to Anne Hyams and they have three children Levi, Kali, and Kristi.
