DAHLONEGA, GA – The Peach Belt Conference released the 2009 baseball All-Academic Team from the conference office last week and North Georgia’s Craig Brisson, Brad Hall, and Logan Sharrett were named first, second, and third team respectively.

The team is part of a new season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field.

Craig Brisson hit .364 during the 2009 season with five home runs, 12 doubles, and 27 runs batted in. The junior had an on base percentage of .496 from the lead off position, playing and starting in all 58 games for the Saints. Brisson had 117 total bases and scored 61 runs and 86 total hits. He is a Math major with a 3.28 grade point average.

Brad Hall, a 2009 Peach Belt Second-Team All-Conference selection, hit .292 during the 2009 season with 14 home runs, 11 doubles, and 57 runs batted in. Hall was fifth in the PBC in home runs, and had a slugging percentage of .578. Hall played in 55 games, and committed just three errors for a .989 fielding percentage at first base and behind the plate. He had eight games with at least three runs batted in, and 14 multiple hit games. Hall is a Business major with a 3.30 grade point average.

The 2008 PBC Tournament most outstanding player, Logan Sharrett hit .221 with one home run, three doubles and 23 runs batted in. The junior had 30 hits and walked 14 times. Sharrett is a Business major with a grade point average of 3.26

To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student athlete must participate in at least half of their team’s events, achieve a 3.2 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale, and have completed at least one full academic year at their current institution. The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors nominated and voted on the selected teams.
