AUGUSTA, GA – North Georgia College &
State University’s Blake Hobby has been named the Peach Belt
Conference Freshman of the Week announced this afternoon by the
league office. Hobby is the second straight North Georgia to
receive the weekly honor.
Hobby hurled the Saints' first shutout of the season as he went
the distance in a 7-0 win at Georgia Southwestern. Making his third
start of the season, the freshman gave up only six hits and
didn’t allow a walk while striking out nine in the
complete-game effort, holding the Huricanes to a .194 average. He
set down the side in order three times, including the ninth inning.
The Macon, Ga., native is 4-4 on the season and has made 17
appearances, and three starts as a true freshman.
