DAHLONEGA, GA – The North Georgia
baseball team has been selected as the Team Sportsmanship Award
Winner by the Peach Belt Conference, season-long program to
recognize hard work, character, and integrity by each sport.
The Saints finished the season with a record of 34-24 overall and
in fourth place in the Peach Belt Conference with a record of 15-12
in the league. North Georgia finished the year winning 10 of their
last 12 games and advanced to the PBC Tournament Championships
game, coming up short in the title game in search back-to-back
tournament championships.
The Peach Belt Conference presents an award following each
championship season to the team in that sport that best exemplifies
sportsmanship and generally conducts themselves with a high degree
of integrity, character and class.
The team sportsmanship award is selected by other teams who
compete in that sport. Points are awarded based on how each team
finished in the voting and at the end of the year, the institution
with the highest totals will receive the ‘PBC Institution of
the Year Sportsmanship Award.’
