Baseball Takes Down West Georgia 14-4
CARROLLTON, GA – North Georgia College
& State University took down in-state rival West Georgia
Thursday afternoon 14-4 at Cole Field in non-conference action.
North Georgia improves to 24-21 overall while the Wolves fall to
13-26 overall.
After West Georgia put two runs on the board in the first inning,
North Georgia responded with six straight runs to take a lead that
they would never relinquish.
The Saints used 13 hits to score a run in the third, five in the
fifth, four in the sixth, and two in seventh and eighth for the
14-4 eight inning victory.
Defending Peach Belt Conference Freshman of the Week Jordan
Erisman continued to shine at the plate, going 4-for-5 with two
runs batted in and a pair of runs scored. Brad Hall had a pair of
hits in the victory, driving in three runs and hitting his 10th
home run of the year in the 10-run win.
Craig Brisson and Daniel Petitti each drove in a pair of runs,
while Logan Sharrett added three RBI’s with a hit in four
attempts.
Brandon Garcia got the start for the Saints on the mound, but
Jacob Rickett picked up the victory in relief, tossing 3.0 innings
to improve to 4-1 on the season.
The Saints return to action over the weekend, traveling to Georgia
Southwestern for a weekend series with the Hurricanes. North
Georgia will play a doubleheader on Saturday and a single game on
Sunday.
