ANDERSON, SC – The North Georgia baseball team scored early and often on Tuesday afternoon, scoring in seven innings to take down Anderson University 16-7 on the road in non-conference action.

The Saints improve to 7-4 on the season, winners of four of their last five and six of their last eight, while the Trojans drop their fifth straight game and fall to 6-8 on the year.

North Georgia pounded out 21 hits and scored 16 runs on their way to their seventh win of the season. Chad Sage had a day at the plate, going 5-6 with five runs batted in and four runs scored, while Craig Brisson added a four-hit performance.

Troy Snitker continued his offensive surge, driving in three runs, including a two-run blast in the ninth to give the Saints a pair of insurance runs. Brad Hall also drove in a trio of runs with two hits, while Andre Airich added another multi-hit game to his season, tallying three hits and runs scored.

North Georgia’s biggest inning came in the third as the Saints took advantage of two errors to plate five runs to jump on top 6-1. Sage drove home the first two runs of the frame with a single, while Bellavance singled home Adam Baker to cap the five-run innings.

Michael Patton (1-1) picked up the win for the Saints, going 5.0 innings and allowing five and two runs, both earned, while striking out four and walking one. Jacob Rickett came on in relief and tossed a pair of hitless innings, while Alex Simmson came on to pitch the ninth, allowing a hit and a run.

North Georgia returns to action over the weekend, hosting UNC Pembroke to open Peach Belt Conference play. The Saints and Braves will play a doubleheader on Saturday starting at 4:00 p.m., with the finale scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
