Rearick Tabbed as Peach Belt Pitcher of the Week
AUGUSTA, GA – North Georgia senior
left-handed pitcher Chris Rearick has been named the Peach Belt
Conference Pitcher of the Week announced this afternoon by the
league office.
Rearick picks up the award after his first start in a North
Georgia uniform and his first appearance at the NCAA Division II
level after transferring from Berry College for his senior
season.
In the Saints’ season opener last Friday evening, senior
left-handed pitcher Chris Rearick stole the show in his North
Georgia debut, tossing eight innings and allowing just four hits
and no earned runs while striking out seven Falcon batters.
He held Pfeiffer to just a .143 batting average against him, while
allowing just one extra base hit in his eight complete innings of
work. Rearick picked up his first victory for the Saints after
posting a 9-2 record last season for the Vikings.
North Georgia returns to action next weekend, traveling to
Stillman College for a doubleheader on Saturday afternoon set to
start at 2:00 p.m., followed by the final game of the series on
Sunday afternoon. The Saints will then return home to the friendly
confines of Bob Stein Stadium for eight of their next nine games.
