DAHLONEGA, GA – Make plans to be in attendance for North Georgia Day at the Gwinnett Braves on Sunday, Aug. 29, at Coolray Field as Bob Stein will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
Mark your calendars now for North Georgia Day at the Gwinnett Braves, set for Sunday, Aug. 29, at Coolray Field in Lawrenceville. This fun, family-oriented event, sponsored by the NGCSU Foundation and the NGCSU Alumni Association, is for alumni, faculty, staff, and students.
Bob Stein, a 1974 North Georgia graduate, will throw out the first pitch prior to the game. When the decision was made in 2000 to bring the intercollegiate baseball program back to North Georgia, Stein was an integral part of the process. Not only did he contribute financially to the program, he also was involved in recruiting coaches and athletes and establishing facilities, including the construction of Bob Stein Stadium.
The Gwinnett Braves, the Triple-A farm team of the Atlanta Braves, also will be celebrating "Fan Appreciation Day" that day, with lots of fun and give-aways planned.
The university's Patriot Choir will be performing the National Anthem and the Corps of Cadets' Color Guard will present the U.S. and Georgia flags prior to the game.
Come out to show your school spirit and make sure to wear your North Georgia gear.
A section of field box tickets, located on the first-base side, has been reserved at a cost of $8 per person. Seats in the stadium's Super Suite and adjoining Party Deck, located on the first-base side, are $40 per person. The Gwinnett Braves wrap up their regular season that weekend. First pitch of the game against the Norfolk Tides is set for 2:05 p.m. The Tides are the Triple-A farm team of the Baltimore Orioles.
Gates open at 12:30 p.m. and lunch service will begin at 1 p.m. for guests with tickets in the suite and deck areas. Parking is $5 per car.
