David Beall Promoted to Assistant Athletics Director
DAHLONEGA, GA – Acting Director of Athletics
Lindsay Reeves has announced that Sports Information Director David
Beall has been promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Sports
Communications effective immediately.
Beall is in his fourth year with the university and is responsible
for covering and promoting all 12 NCAA Division II sports at North
Georgia competing in the Peach Belt Conference. He will continue
his duties as Director of the Sports Communications office, while
also assisting in administrative roles within the department.
“I appreciate the opportunity North Georgia has given me to
further my career, Beall said. “I look forward to making the
Sports Communications office at North Georgia one of the best in
the country.”
In the summer of 2008, Beall redesigned the North Georgia website,
creating www.SaintsSports.com through the PrestoSports network, a
website he is currently redesigning with a brand new look set to
launch next month.
He hosted the NCAA Southeast
Regional and Super Regional Softball Tournaments in 2009 and 2010,
and created a full four-camera television broadcast during the
softball Super Regional this past May. He also received the Easton
Incorporated softball media guide “Cover of the Year”
award in 2009.
Beall worked with Atlanta based Sports Radio 680 The Fan (ESPN
radio) from 2004-2006. His duties included assisting in producing
the popular afternoon talk show “Buck and Kincade”
throughout the summer of 2004.
During his tenure with ESPN radio he was also the stations game
day reporter for the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, Georgia Tech
football and Basketball, and University of Georgia football. He
conducted interviews with players and coaches during this time that
aired daily on 680 The Fan.
Beall worked as the head sports writer at The Dahlonega Nugget
during the summer of 2007, writing, editing, and designing the
sports section on a weekly basis while covering the Atlanta Braves,
Atlanta Falcons, and local high school sports.
A resident of Dahlonega, Ga., Beall graduated from North Georgia
College & State University in the spring of 2008 with a degree
in Business Administration. He was also a member of the Saints
cross country team for three seasons and served as team captain for
two years.
