Reeves Tabbed as Acting Director of Athletics
DAHLONEGA, GA – President Dr. David Potter has
announced that Associate Athletics Director and Senior
Women’s Administrator Lindsay Reeves will take over as Acting
Director of Athletics at North Georgia College & state
University effective immediately.
Reeves is in her 10th year with North Georgia and will take over
as Acting Director of Athletics after serving as Associate
Athletics Director and Senior Women’s Administrator for the
last three years. She has also been a professor in North Georgia's
School of Education since 2000.
“Coach Dunn has built an extremely successful and solid
foundation for North Georgia Athletics and I look forward to
continue our pursuit of excellence both in the Peach Belt
Conference and within all of NCAA Division II,” Reeves said
of her new appointment.
She will take over for long time Athletics Director Randy Dunn who
retired in June after 28 years with the university. Reeves will
oversee the 11 NCAA Division II sports at North Georgia competing
in the Peach Belt Conference.
As Senior Women’s Administrator, Reeves has overseen the
emergence of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) at North
Georgia, raising over $10,000 the last two years for the
Make-A-wish Foundation, and the only PBC school to reach the $5,000
mark in consecutive years.
Reeves was instrumental in North Georgia’s transition from
NAIA into NCAA Division II, handling internal operations allowing
the institution to make the probationary period in just two
season.
Lindsay graduated from Ithaca College with a BS in Physical
Education and received her Masters from University of North
Carolina at Chapel Hill in Exercise Physiology.
After completing her education, she worked as the Director of
Testing at Sports Training Institute in N.Y., before taking over as
Assistant Director of Health & Fitness at General Electric
World Headquarters in CT. From 1990-1999 she was the Director of
Employee Wellness and faculty member at UNC-Chapel Hill. Lindsay is
married to Dave Reeves and they have a son Tim who is 23, and a
daughter Kelley who is 21.
