SAVANNAH, GA – North Georgia trailed by
just a bucket at halftime, but fell 78-58 at 25th-ranked Armstrong
Atlantic State University Monday evening in Peach Belt Conference
action.
The Saints fall to 8-6 overall and 2-6 in the Peach Belt
Conference, while Armstrong Atlantic improve to 12-2 on the season
and 5-2 in the conference.
North Georgia, who entered the night leading the league in
three-point field goal percentage at 42-percent could not buy a
bucket, shooting just 13.3 percent from long range and 35 percent
from the field.
The Saints led as late as 14:34 in the game, but the Pirates
answered with a 21-5 run to take a commanding 61-46 advantage as
they held on down the stretch for the 20-point victory.
LaBrian Lyons led a pair of Saints in double figures with 20
points, while Anthony Rowe, the newly tabbed PBC Player of the Week
notched his ninth double-double of the season with 15 points and 11
rebounds.
Four Pirates scored in double figures, led by Dwight Tolbert with
21 points and nine rebounds, while Gabriel Robinson tallied 15
points and seven boards.
North Georgia returns to action on Wednesday evening, traveling to
Clayton State to take on the Lakers at 7:30 p.m.
