Saints Set to Host Carson-Newman This Afternoon
DAHLONEGA, GA – The North Georgia
men’s basketball team will look to bring in the New Year with
a win on Wednesday afternoon, hosting Carson-Newman in a key
non-conference battle as both teams gear up for conference play in
the coming days.
North Georgia (5-1, 0-1 PBC) is looking to close out their
non-conference schedule with a perfect 6-0 record and win their
second straight game. The Saints picked up wins in their first five
games before dropping their conference opener at Francis Marion on
December 15. Chris Faulkner has the program off to its best start
since taking over as head coach six seasons ago.
Carson-Newman (4-7, 0-1 SAC) is looking to get back on track after
leading late at Alabama-Huntsville, but falling 72-68 to the
Chargers. The Eagles were held to a season-low 68 points as they
try to stop a three-game skid tonight in Memorial Hall.
Both teams have gone 13 days since their last game, with both
squads competing on the road in those contests. Follow all the
action live as the South Atlantic Conference and the Peach Belt
Conference square off one last time before postseason play begins.
