DAHLONEGA, GA - Senior center Anthony Rowe has
been named the Peach Belt Conference Men’s Basketball Player
of the Week after averaging 20 points and 13 rebounds in a pair of
games last week for the Saints.
Rowe averaged 20 points and 13 rebounds on the week as the Saints
went 1-1. He began with 10 points and 13 rebounds in a 15-point win
over Columbus State, then exploded for a career-high 30 points with
13 rebounds and three blocks as the Saints fell to #7 Augusta State
107-100 in double-overtime. 21 of his 30 points came in the second
half and OT periods as he hit 11 of 18 shots from the field and 8
of 12 free throws.
The senior shot 54% from the field and averaged 20.0 points and
13.0 rebounds per game. Leads the PBC in rebounding and is the only
player in the conference to average a double-double per game (13.2
ppg, 10.3 rpg). Also ranked ninth in field goal percentage and
fifth in blocks.
Rowe leads the Saints with eight double-doubles on the season as he
broke into the school’s 1,000-point scoring club with his 30
points against Augusta State. He currently sits at 1,001 career
points and 655 rebounds.
