Rowe Signs Professional Contract to Play in France

DAHLONEGA, GA – After the conclusion of his four-year collegiate career, North Georgia basketball legend Anthony Rowe has signed a professional contract to continue his career in France, agreeing to a deal with Cognac Basketball.

"Over the last four years, Anthony has been an extremely vital part of our program's continued growth,” head coach Chris Faulkner said. “What he did at North Georgia has been accomplished by very few players here, or at any other school. I can not communicate how much he will be missed."

The most decorated player in NCAA Division II history at North Georgia, Rowe put a lid on his collegiate career at the end of the 2009 season after scoring 1,143 points and recording 752 rebounds, both records in North Georgia basketball Division II history.

As one of the most consistent players for head coach Chris Faulkner over the last four years, Rowe has scored at least 200 points in each of his four seasons, and holds the DII era career records for points, rebounds, field goals, field goal percentage, and blocked shots.

Rowe will continue his summer training on the campus of North Georgia before traveling to France for preseason training camp on August 3, 2009, with games set to start the first week of September.

"The oppurtunity for Anthony to continue his basketball career playing professionally is a life long dream that we are proud to see him reach,” Faulkner said. “I am excited to follow what I know will be an exciting career."
