Contact: Steve Cunha,

DAHLONEGA, GA – Following an up and down 2010-11 season, head men's basketball coach Chris Faulkner has released a full slate of games for the 2011-12 campaign that features 15 home games.

The Saints will open the year by hosting Brevard College and Mars Hill College in what will be the inaugural PBC-SAC Challenge the second week in November.

After the first road game of the year at Newberry College, North Georgia returns to Dahlonega for their final home game during the month of November, a match-up with nearby Truett-McConnell College.

The Saints will then hit the road again for a pair of marquee games at the West Florida Thanksgiving Classic in Pensacola, Florida. North Georgia will battle Alabama-Huntsville, who is coming off an Elite Eight appearance a year ago, on November 25, before turning around and taking on tournament host West Florida to cap the holiday classic.

The Saints will open their Peach Belt Conference slate on December 14, hosting Georgia College, which is their only conference game scheduled before the 2012 calendar year.

The Saints open the New Year with a tough two-game conference road trip against Clayton State on January 3, and defending Peach Belt Conference Champion Augusta State on January 7.

Six more league games are on the slate for January, including four of those contests taking place in Memorial Hall. The Saints welcome UNC Pembroke, Francis Marion and Armstrong Atlantic to Dahlonega, while Flagler will make their way to town on January 28, which will serve as Homecoming 2012.

North Georgia closes out its season with eight conference games in February, including four home games against the University of Montevallo, Clayton State, Georgia Southwestern and Senior/Spirit Night against Columbus State on February 22.

Expectations are high for the Saints, who look to improve on their 10-16 record overall and a 7-10 mark in the Peach Belt Conference in 2010-11.

Two of the team's top three scorers from last season return this fall, including Elijah Smith and Clarence Tillman, who averaged 11.6 and 13.3 points per game respectively. Chaun Tinney is set for his senior season after averaging 4.7 points and 2.7 rebounds, while starting 19 games in his junior year.

The sports communications office will cover every minute of the 2011-12 season with live video broadcasts and live in-game statistics. Stay tuned in the coming weeks for the Peach Belt Conference's preseason coaches poll and the league's Preseason All-Conference Team.
