DAHLONEGA, GA. – Clarence Tillman has been named the Moe's Southwest Grill North Georgia Athlete of the Week after leading the men's basketball team to back-to-back wins to open the season at the PBC/SAC Challenge.

The senior from Orange Park, Florida, began the 2011-12 campaign with 27 points and seven rebounds in a 75-66 win over Brevard.

Tillman followed that performance with 36 points, grabbing seven boards, and dishing out two assists in a 105-78 win over Mars Hill College. Tillman went on a 9-0 run of his own to put the Saints on cruise control as they ran away from the Lions.

He continued his strong play on Tuesday evening, scoring 17 points while going 11 for 12 from the free throw line and grabbing six boards in a 85-83 loss at Newberry College.

Through the first three games, Tillman is averaging 26.7 points per game and 6.7 rebounds for the Saints. He is shooting 55.3 percent from the field, including 41.7 percent from behind the arc, while shooting 85 percent from the charity stripe.

After the first weekend of action, Tillman leads the Peach Belt Conference in points per game and is sixth in rebounds per game.

Tillman looks to remain hot as the Saints host Truett-McConnell in a non-conference tilt on Tuesday, November 22, at 7: 30 PM in Memorial Hall.
