Hollis Named to PBC All-Conference Second Team

AUGUSTA, Ga. – University of North Georgia men's basketball player Ishmael Hollis has been named a member of the 2013 Peach Belt All-Conference Second Team as released by the conference office Tuesday afternoon.

A junior transfer, Hollis has provided the Saints with both a large body under the basket as well as a fluid shot from anywhere on the court this season. He leads the team with 32.0 minutes, 15.4 points and 7.5 rebounds per game which is good enough for 14th and eighth in the PBC.

A native of Buford, Ga., Hollis is second on the team with 2.3 three-pointers per game off 39.7% shooting from beyond the arc while his three-point percentage has him 11th in the PBC. In 26 games, he has started 24 while shooting a team third-best 46.0% from the field but leads the Saints with 5.5 field goals per game.

Hollis scored his season-high of 28 points and corralled in a season-high 16 rebounds in the November 10 game at Newberry College as part of his four double-doubles. Also in that game, he converted six three-pointers, another season-high for the 6-8 forward.

Quamain Rose from the University of North Carolina Pembroke was named the conference's Freshman of the Year with Defensive Player of the Year honors going to Juron Dobbs from Clayton State University. The PBC's Player of the Year is Re'mon Nelson from the University of South Carolina Aiken with Vince Alexander from USCA and Ben Miller of UNCP being named Co-Coaches of the Year.
