Men's Golf In 8th Place After First Round at AASU
SAVANNAH, GA
– The North Georgia men’s golf team opened play at the
AASU Pirate Invitational on Monday afternoon, coming in 8th out of
nine teams at the Southbridge Golf Club.
Flagler College leads the event at the midway point, firing a
one-under-par 287, two strokes ahead of host Armstrong Atlantic.
The Saints are in third place at 25-over-par with 313.
Bryson Womack led the Saints with a four-over-par 76, sitting in
27th place just seven shots of the lead held by Flagler’s
Drew Pressentin who holds a two-shot lead with a three-under-par
69.
Brian Mallory is tied for 31st place after the opening round,
recording a five-over-par 77, while Howard Duffin and Jake Martin
are both tied for 42nd position after logging eight-over-par
80’s.
Benjamin Jarrard rounded out the team with an 11-over-par 83,
placing the freshman in 51st place overall.
Tee times in the final round begin at 8:00 a.m. at Southbridge
Golf Club on Tuesday.
