The North Georgia men’s golf team shared the lead after the
first round of the 2010 St. Andrews Spring Invitational, but drops
two spots in the final round to finish third on Sunday afternoon at
the Woodlake Country Club.
St. Andrews Presbyterian and Lenoir-Rhyne university tied for the
win at 615, while North Georgia finished third, firing a final
round 315 to finish two shots back of the leaders at 617 total
strokes.
Bryson Womack finished in a tie for second individually, shooting
a one-under-par 71 in the opening round, and following with a final
round 78 to finish at 149, six shots off the pace of L-R’s
Jason Garrett who captured the title with a final round 69 to
finish at 143.
Brian Mallory finished in a tie for eighth in the event, shooting
rounds of 76 and 77 to finish at 153, while teammate Howard Duffin
finished 11th at 154 after a final round 79. Stanley Roberts and
Jake Martin finished tied for 23rd at 163, posting final rounds of
81 and 83 respectively.
North Georgia returns to action at Reynolds Plantation for a
three-round event this Tuesday-Thursday hosted by the University of
Dayton Ohio.
