PINE MOUNTAIN, GA – The North Georgia men’s golf team finished play at the 19th annual Peach Belt Conference tournament on Tuesday afternoon, taking 11th place overall on the Mountain View Course at Callaway Gardens.

GCSU, ranked second in the country, came from behind in the final round to capture the championship, firing a final round five-over-par 293 to finish at 17-over-par for the tournament, finishing eight shots clear of USC Aiken who matched the Bobcats final round five-over-par.

Armstrong Atlantic, the clubhouse leader after two rounds, struggled on Tuesday with a 24-over-par 312 to take third, while UNC Pembroke was tied for fourth place with Columbus State.

North Georgia rounded out the field in the 11-team event, recording a final round 35-over-par, their highest round of the week, to finish at 88-over-par with a 952.

UNC Pembroke’s Jordan Walor captured the individual championship as the only player under par, firing an even par 72 in the final round to finish at two-under-par for the tournament. GCSU’s Niclas Johansson came in second with three straight round of 72 to finish at even par for the championship.


Jake Martin was the low finisher for the Saints, firing a final round 80 to a go with rounds of 77 and 79 to finish in a tie for 41st place overall with a 20-over-par 236. Brian Mallory finished tied for 45th place with a final round 79 to finish 22-over-par for the tournament.

Howard Duffin found himself in a tie for 45th place overall in the championship following a final round 10-over-par 82, putting Duffin at 22-over-par for the three-round event with a 239.

Bryson Womack finished alone in 52nd place with a 28-over-par 244, while Ben Jarrard rounded out the field at the championship in 55th place overall with a 44-over-par 260.

With the conclusion of the 19th annual PBC men’s golf tournament, the Saints cap their inaugural season of competition in the NCAA Division II and the Peach Belt Conference.
