DAHLONEGA, GA - Howard Duffin has been named the PBC Men's Golfer of the Week and the North Georgia Moe's Athlete of the Week after setting all kinds of records when he captured the 2011 Will Wilson Intercollegiate.
The senior shot a 3-under-par 207 (70-69-68) en route to a three-shot victory over Carson-Newman's Jonathan Kim-Moss.
The Wigmore, England, native's individual victory was his first since a head-to-head match against the university of Dayton in March of 2010 and was the third victory of his career. He was also the first Saints player to earn individual honors since Bryson Womack won the Mountain Lion Invitational last October.
Duffin's record-setting day did not end there. This was only the second time in the program's three-year history that a player won a tournament longer than one round and it was the first time in school history a player shot even-par or better in a 54-hole tournament.
He carded a team high 10 birdies and 37 pars, becoming the first member of the Saints to finish a 54-hole tournament at even par or better, while earning his third top five finish in four events this fall.
Duffin continued his strong fall recording scores in the 70's or better in all 10 of his rounds. He is now third in the PBC with a 72.1 stroke average and becomes the first North Georgia men's golfer to ever be named the PBC Golfer of the Week.
