Men's Golf Sits In 12th After Opening 36 Holes At Jay Jennison Memorial

ST. AUGUSTINE, Florida – (UNGAthletics.com) – The University of North Georgia men's golf team opened up play at the Jay Jennison Memorial Tournament hosted by Peach Belt member Flagler College with an opening day 303-300—602 which is good for 12th place out of 17 teams.   Host Flagler's 286-289—575 (-1) is good for a three-shot lead over Georgia College.

The teams completed back-to-back 18-hole rounds today in rainy and wet conditions for an opening day 36 holes of golf and will conclude the 54-hole event with a final round beginning tomorrow at The Palencia Club.

Lander (578) and Armstrong Atlantic (580) are third and fourth respectively to round out an all-PBC top four teams.

The Nighthawks trail Wilmington (Del.) College by a pair of strokes and are six shots clear of PBC member Montevallo. 

Will Brackett's 74-72—146 (+2) leads the way for the Nighthawks and places him in a tie for 21st in the 90-player field.  Michael Motz registered a 73-76—149 and stands in a tie for 35th.

Austin Booker posted a pair of identical 76's for a 152 (t54th) while Aaron George (83-76—159, t81st) and Grant Rish (80-79—159, t81st) rounded out the scoring for North Georgia.
