North Georgia Falls 3-1 to USC Aiken
Dahlonega, GA – North Georgia College
& State University rallied for a late first-half goal, but the
Pacers of USC Aiken held on Saturday afternoon for a 3-1 victory in
Peach Belt Conference action at the Soccer Complex.
USC Aiken (3-6, 1-2 PBC) picked up all three of their goals in the
first 37 minutes as Fernando Gamez notched his third and fourth
goals of the season to lead the Pacers. Kofi Akyere also scored a
goal and tallied an assist, while Durrell had two asstists of his
own in the victory.
North Georgia (5-7, 0-2 PBC) scored their lone goal of the game in
the 44th minute, as Eric York dribbled past Pacer goalkeeper Milad
Zareian and tallied his second goal of the season.
USC Aiken outshot the Saints 15-14, and held a 5-2 advantage on
corner kicks. Milon had six saves for the Pacers, while Rade
Tanaskovic stopped eight shots for the Saints.
The Saints return to action on Tuesday, October 5, hosting Brevard
College at 4:00 p.m.
